Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for continuing tariffs on Canadian goods and also took aim at Prime Minister Mark Carney. Poilievre accused Carney of failing to secure tariff relief for Canada, noting that dozens of other countries have already received some form of exemption.
Speaking in Milton, Ontario this morning, Poilievre also outlined his housing policy, promising to cut housing-related taxes by up to $100,000 through increased support to municipalities if the Conservatives form the next government.
He further accused Carney of lacking any concrete housing plan, alleging that Carney is more focused on benefiting his own financial interests. Poilievre claimed that the modular homes Carney is promoting are tied to his investments through Brookfield, the firm where he previously held a leadership role.
