RCMP in Alberta are investigating what they call a road-rage incident that resulted in a crash where a young child was ejected from a vehicle.

Police say they received reports on Saturday afternoon of a white truck passing vehicles, which they say overtook a family's SUV on Highway 2 near Carstairs.

Police allege the truck braked aggressively in front of the SUV, causing it to roll and throwing a child under five from the vehicle.

The child suffered life-threatening injuries, and police said yesterday they were still searching for the truck.

At least three Serbian lawmakers injured as smoke bombs and flares thrown in parliament

At least three lawmakers were injured on Tuesday after chaos erupted in Serbia’s parliament, where smoke bombs and flares were thrown. Lawmakers were scheduled to vote on a law that would increase funding for university education, but opposition parties insisted the session was illegal and should first confirm the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and his government. The incident reflects a deep political crisis in the Balkan country where months-long anti-corruption protests have rattled a populist government. Vucevic resigned the post in January as authorities faced sweeling prot

'Join work or face suspension': Punjab issues ultimatum to striking tehsildars

The Punjab government has issued a warning to striking officers, demanding they return to work immediately or face suspension. The tehsildars have gone on mass casual leave until Friday, protesting the Vigilance Bureau's actions against some of their members. Mann emphasised his government's strict stance against corruption, stating, "To prevent inconvenience

Deadline passes for Trump's tariffs with no relent

Canadians are waking up to a new and uncertain reality after U.S. President Donald Trump's deadline for economy-wide tariffs passed with no relent overnight, triggering a continental trade war. The president's executive order hitting Canada and Mexico with 25 per cent across-the-board tariffs, with a lower 10 per cent levy on Canadian energy, took effect at 12:01 a.m. ET. In a statement Monday night, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Trump's tariffs are "unjustified" and Canada will retaliate with counter-tariffs and other measures. Partap Singh Bajwa Targets CM Mann Over Farmers' Meeting

Punjab Congress leader in the Vidhan Sabha, Partap Singh Bajwa, has criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over his meeting with farmers. Bajwa described the Chief Minister’s attitude towards farmers during the meeting with farmer leaders at Punjab Bhawan today as extremely shameful. The Congress leader expressed surprise that, instead of addressing the serious and genuine demands of Punjab’s farmers, Bhagwant Mann is attempting to suppress their struggle at the behest of the BJP government at the Centre. Partap Singh Bajwa further stated that he supports the legitimate demands of Punjab
