Five days before the Delhi Assembly elections, eight Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs resigned from the party and their positions. They cited not being given a ticket for the upcoming elections and accused the party of corruption as the reasons for their resignation.

At the same time, Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit, who is contesting against Arvind Kejriwal for the New Delhi seat, challenged Kejriwal to a debate at Jantar Mantar. However, Kejriwal did not show up at 3 pm on Friday as scheduled.

It is worth noting that the New Delhi constituency remains one of the most talked-about in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Kejriwal has represented this seat as an MLA three times.
