Six people were displaced and one cat has been saved following house fire in Surrey
Six people have been displaced and one cat has been rescued in Surrey, B.C., on Sunday morning after a home was destroyed by fire. Surrey Fire Service assistant chief Mike McNamara says they received a call about a house fire early in the morning on the corner of Fraser Highway and 168 Street in the city.
McNamara says upon arrival, firefighters found a two-storey home was engulfed in flames and thick smoke was coming out of its windows.

Arvind Kejriwal to Visit Punjab and Participate in 10-Day Vipassana Session
Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal will visit Punjab for 10 days, where he will attend a Vipassana session at a center in Hoshiarpur from March 5 to March 15.
This will be Kejriwal’s first visit to Punjab after his defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections. It is worth noting that both senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders, Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, faced defeat in the Delhi elections.

Sanyukt Kisan Morcha Fails to Reach Agreement with Government; Farmers Announce Major Protest on March 5
A meeting was held today between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and representatives of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh, which lasted for about two hours. However, no agreement was reached on any of the issues discussed during the meeting.

Tariffs on Canada will take effect Tuesday. The White House has issued an executive order lifting the 30-day moratorium on the implementation of these tariffs. While details on how the tariffs will be imposed have not yet been disclosed, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick suggested that the original plan for a 25 percent tariff might be revised.

Another earthquake shakes awake some British Columbians
An earthquake has shaken awake some B.C. residents, the latest in a series of tremors for the province.
Earthquakes Canada says the 4.1 magnitude earthquake was detected at 5:02 a.m. PST roughly 44 kilometres northeast of Victoria, B.C., and 75 kilometres southeast of Vancouver but it isn't believed to have caused any damage.
The agency says the quake would have been lightly felt around Victoria and Vancouver, and by 6 a.m. more than 1,500 people had reported feeling the quake to the agency.
Many people also took to social media to report being shaken awake by the tremor.
